The Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) established the Securities Regulations Advisory Group to provide advice to the AASB on securities regulatory matters. This includes recommendations on projects to develop or revise standards that focus primarily on the auditor’s role and responsibilities in the capital markets.
The role and responsibilities of the Advisory Group includes the following:
The Advisory Group meets privately on an as-needed basis.
The results of the Advisory Group meetings serve as the basis for the agenda papers presented to the AASB when a relevant project is on its meeting agenda.
