Established in 2024, the Reporting & Assurance Standards Oversight Council is an independent, volunteer body dedicated to serving the public interest.
The oversight council oversees and provides input into the activities of four standard-setting boards:

Next steps are approved, and implementation plans are underway on the recommendations made by the Independent Review Committee on Standard Setting in Canada (IRCSS) in March 2023. Key approvals include setting up an independent legal entity to house standard-setting activities, putting a new funding model in place, and establishing a single oversight council.

Standardsco, a newly established federal not-for-profit corporation, has been formed in response to the recommendations of the Independent Review Committee on Standard Setting in Canada. The Standardsco Search Committee is currently seeking qualified individuals to join our Inaugural Board of Directors, including the pivotal role of Chair. In partnership with the leadership advisory firm Odgers Berndtson, the Standardsco Search Committee encourages interested candidates to apply promptly.
The CSSB announces a transition in its leadership. Charles-Antoine St-Jean is transitioning from his position as Chair. Bruce Marchand will be interim Chair.
