The AcSB approved the formation of a transition resource group to support the implementation of IFRS 20 Regulatory Assets and Regulatory Liabilities in Canada. The IASB is expected to issue this standard in Q2 2026.
Meetings
The Group will normally meet two times a year, or more as needed. Meetings are not open to the public.
Individuals who submit issues may be asked to participate in the Group’s discussion of that issue.
Members
The Group consists of:
- a Chair, who is appointed by the AcSB; and
- 10 to 25 members with a range of backgrounds and expertise – including preparers, users and accounting practitioners – who are actively engaged in the rate-regulated industry.
In addition to members, several other individuals participate in the meetings, including:
- Canadians who serve on IASB committees – Michel Picard, Member of Consultative Group for Rate Regulation;
- Representative of the Canadian Securities Administrators – Kyra Plata, Alberta Securities Commission;
- Representative of CAMPUT – Tina Li, Ontario Energy Board; and
- Representative of PSAB – Michael Puskaric, Public Sector Accounting Board.
Others may be invited to participate in meetings on an ad hoc basis to contribute to discussions on particular issues. An individual who submits an issue can participate in the Group’s discussion of that issue.
