Supporting the AcSB, PSAB and AASB
Rebecca Villmann is the Director, Reporting Initiatives and Research for Financial Reporting & Assurance Standards Canada. In this role, Rebecca supports the AcSB, PSAB and the AASB by leading initiatives to enhance the relevance of financial reporting through research. This includes engaging academics in standard setting to enhance the extent and relevance of evidence the Boards consider when making decisions. She is also a Board member of the Canadian Academic Accounting Association.
Rebecca previously lead the AcSB staff team in supporting the development and application of domestic and international accounting standards. She oversaw various standard-setting projects ranging from insurance to annual improvements, and was involved on past projects on conceptual framework, investment companies and fair value measurement. Prior to joining the AcSB staff, Rebecca was responsible for financial reporting of a public company and was an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
