Geneviève Beauchemin, CPA auditor, is Vice‑President, Stewardship of the Profession, at the Ordre des CPA du Québec. A strategic and forward‑thinking executive, she leads professional inspection, professional practice support, regulatory compliance, and professional development, providing strategic direction to a large multidisciplinary team that includes many senior CPAs. Her work focuses on strengthening public protection, elevating practice quality, and ensuring the profession’s continued relevance in a rapidly evolving environment.
Under her leadership, the Ordre’s inspection program underwent a comprehensive reform, including the adoption of revised regulation, a new risk‑based approach, team restructuring, and virtual inspections. Geneviève has implemented a collaborative framework with market regulators and oversight bodies and regularly hosts and attends roundtables with audit committee chairs, CFOs, and firm partners to surface issues encountered in the field and foster constructive, evidence-based improvements to practice. She also oversees the Ordre’s numerous technical and sector working groups, which convene hundreds of CPA volunteers and provide unique, practical insights to standard setters and regulators across Canada.
Geneviève actively contributes to consultations on accounting, audit, and ethical and independence standards, exposure drafts, and regulatory proposals. Her portfolio of responsibilities also includes leading modernization initiatives in professional development, positioning the Ordre as a leading provider of training on new standards in Canada, and driving sustained participation in regulation-harmonization efforts across Canada and in international initiatives aimed at improving practice.
