Would you like to help improve accounting standards for private enterprises and/or accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations in Canada?
Do you have knowledge of accounting standards and their application for private enterprises and/or not-for-profit organizations? Or do you regularly review or use their statements to make decisions?
If so, the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) needs you on one of its Advisory Committees! The AcSB is recruiting members for the following committees, which terms starting April 1, 2027:
About the Committees
The Committees also provide advice to the AcSB on managing accounting standards for private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations, such as advising on the timing of changes to standards and the process of communicating those changes with interested and affected parties.
Committee members are from across the country and bring a range of perspectives and experience:
- Private Enterprise Advisory Committee and Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee: Members have a variety of backgrounds, including preparers, financial statement users, and accounting practitioners involved with private enterprise and not-for-profit financial reporting.
- Medium and Small Practitioners Advisory Committee: Members include practitioners from medium and small accounting firms involved with private enterprise and/or not-for-profit financial reporting.
- Canadian Private Enterprise User Advisory Committee: Members include users of private company financial statements such as lenders, private equity investors, and other professionals from diverse investment and analytical backgrounds.
The Committees aim to reflect the broad diversity of private and not-for-profit enterprises in Canada.
Committee members are expected to:
- have knowledge of accounting standards for private enterprises or accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations and their application; or
- regularly review and use their financial statements to make decisions.
