Join the AcSB for a virtual roundtable discussion on the project “Subsequent Measurement of Goodwill and Acquired Intangible Assets” to share your feedback with the AcSB and inform future exposure draft proposals.

The AcSB is conducting public outreach to inform exposure draft proposals addressing challenges that private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations face in recognizing intangible assets acquired in a business combination and measuring goodwill. Preparers highlighted complexities and costs in estimating fair values, along with challenges performing goodwill impairment tests. Initial feedback from financial statement users of private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations indicates that the current measurement of goodwill and quantitative information on some intangible assets may not be decision useful.

We want to hear your feedback as we develop proposals aimed at providing relief from recognizing intangible assets acquired in business combinations and allowing entities to amortize goodwill.

Your feedback is crucial to ensuring that the proposals meet the needs of private enterprises and not-for-profit organizations, and result in decision-useful information.

Why should you attend?

  • Learn more about the potential proposals and how they may impact financial reporting by private entities and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Share your views directly with representatives of the AcSB in an open discussion.
  • Contribute to informing proposals to be included in a future exposure draft.

Can’t attend?

If you are unable to attend the roundtable, please contact us so we can consider alternative ways to obtain your input.
