Rucsandra Moldovan is an associate professor of accounting at the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, where she teaches and conducts research on financial reporting, disclosure, and accounting standard setting.

An award-winning researcher, Dr. Moldovan’s work focuses on how financial statements and disclosures are interpreted in practice, informing accounting standards and regulatory policy. Her research has been cited by the International Accounting Standards Board, the Financial Accounting Standards Board, and the European Securities and Markets Authority. In 2024, she served as academic fellow of the Accounting Standards Board.

Dr. Moldovan has more than a decade of experience teaching financial accounting and reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises at the undergraduate level. She supervises PhD students in accounting and auditing and teaches in Concordia’s PhD program.

She holds a PhD in Business Administration from ESSEC Business School in France, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Babeș-Bolyai University in Romania.
