Nelson Winia

Nelson Winia is a Partner in MNP’s Accounting and Assurance group. He provides research and consultation on technical accounting, assurance, and professional ethical issues for private and public companies; and develops guidance and internal educational material for MNP’s assurance practice.

As a member of MNP’s Assurance and Accounting services, Nelson’s focus is performing engagement quality reviews on small- to medium-sized owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit organizations (NFPOs), small municipalities, First Nations communities, and school boards.

Nelson has deep knowledge and experience in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises, IFRS® Accounting Standards, Accounting Standards for NFPOs, and Public Sector Accounting Standards, as well as issues surrounding application of professional ethical standards.

Nelson has been a member of the Private Enterprise Advisory Committee from 2020 to 2025, and a member of the CPA Canada Independence Standing Committee since 2021.
