Stacy Hammett is Senior Director, Inspections and Audit Standards Leader at the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB), Canada’s audit regulator. She also represents CPAB on the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR) Standards Coordination Working Group (2019 to present). This group is responsible for establishing a forum for IFIAR members to share views and concerns about pronouncements from the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants.
Stacy has more than 20 years’ experience providing audit and assurance services to a range of clients at multi-national professional services firms. Prior to joining CPAB, she was an audit partner at PwC in the assurance practice and held various subject matter expert roles in the firm's national assurance, risk and quality and independence groups. Stacy represented PwC on the CPA Canada Advisory Group on the Implementation of Canadian Auditing Standards (2011 to 2016) and contributed to publications for audit practitioners and those charged with governance. She started her career at BDO (1997 to 2001).
Stacy has a Bachelor of Administration (1997) and is a CPA (2000).
