Agriculture Advisory Group

About the Advisory Group

The Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) established the Agriculture Advisory Group (AAG) in April 2017 to provide advice to the AcSB on its project to develop authoritative guidance related to the accounting for biological assets and agricultural produce.

In November 2019, the AcSB issued Section 3041, Agriculture, and the standard is effective for fiscal years beginning on or after January 1, 2022.

In May 2023, the AcSB revised the AAG’s mandate to advise the AcSB on Section 3041 application matters. The Group will assist the AcSB with assessing whether a post-implementation review will be needed in the future for this new agriculture standard.
