Richard Talbot is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Fellow) and Chartered Financial Analyst with over 25 years of investment research and capital markets experience. He has significant expertise in strategy formulation and operational efficiency and effectiveness. Richard is currently a board member or Investment Adviser for the Peter Cundill Foundation, Invesco Canada, and Canada Overseas Investments Limited.

His previous senior leadership roles at RBC Capital Markets (RBC CM), a top-10 global investment bank, include Chief Operating Officer – with overall responsibility for the firm’s operating and administrative functions on a worldwide basis – and Co-Head of Global Research. During his time at RBC CM, he was consistently ranked the number one research analyst in his sector by institutional investors, and led RBC CM’s research team to the number one ranking for Canadian Equity Research.

Richard is active in the accounting profession and the local community. He is Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the Industry Standards Reporting Research Council, which works to create international standards for the reporting of alternative performance measures. He is a board member for Second Harvest and Royal St. George’s College. In the past he has served on boards for organizations such as CFA Society Toronto, United Way Greater Toronto Major Individual Giving Cabinet, and Women in Capital Markets (Advisory Council).

Richard holds undergraduate and graduate degrees (with honours) in business administration from the Ivey Business School.
