Erica Teklits

Until December 2021, Erica Teklits was a partner with BDO Canada, where she was the firm’s National Industry Leader for the not-for-profit and education sector for almost a decade. She has over 30 years of experience providing auditing, accounting, and advisory services to a wide range of clients, including public and privately held companies reporting under IFRS® Accounting Standards and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises; and public and private not-for-profit organizations reporting under Public Sector Accounting Standards and accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations.

From October 2015 to July 2018, Erica served as a member of the Accounting Standards Board Not-for-Profit Advisory Committee. In December 2017, she became a Fellow of CPA Ontario. In April 2019 she was appointed to the Accounting Standards Oversight Council, and in 2023 chaired the Effectiveness Review Joint Taskforce.

Erica is actively involved in the community. For her 15 years of service to the Etobicoke Services for Seniors, she has received the Ontario Volunteer Service Award. Having recently completed a 9-year term as Chair of the Community Foundation of Mississauga, she now serves as a board member for the foundation.
