Geoffrey Gatien became Associate Deputy Minister and Controller of the Department of Finance and Treasury Board for the Government of Nova Scotia in 2016. In this role he is responsible for the development of the province’s annual budget and fiscal plan, as well as the production of the annual public accounts. Prior to that, Geoffrey held various other roles within the Government of Nova Scotia.
After graduating with his Bachelor of Business Administration from Saint Francis Xavier University, Geoffrey obtained his Chartered Accountant designation. At the start of his career, Geoffrey worked in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services area at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Halifax.
Geoffrey has been an active member of the Public Sector Accounting Discussion Group.
