Lawrence B. Smith

Lawrence Smith is currently an independent consultant providing financial advisory services to private and public companies. He is also the Vice President, Consultant Investment Relations Advisory with Storyboard Communications, providing advisory services to companies in a range of sectors on investor relations and communications strategies. Lawrence has spent the bulk of his career in the investment business, working for approximately 15 years as a “sell side” equity analyst, and five years with a large Canadian investment management firm advising portfolio managers on investments in the materials sector. Previously, he worked for ten years with a Canadian public company in management roles, in both corporate development and treasury.

Lawrence is currently a board member of the Toronto Library Foundation and a member of the Investment and Finance Committee, and is Chairman of the Audit Committee of Orford Mining Corporation.  His educational qualifications include a B. Comm in accounting, an MBA in finance, and Lawrence also holds the CFA designation.
