Gale Kelly has been with KPMG LLP since 1991 and is currently a Partner in its Department of Professional Practice. In her role, she assists engagement teams and clients in determining the appropriate accounting for complex transactions under Canadian and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). Gale’s areas of expertise include securitization, derivatives and hedging, consolidation, leases and employee benefits. She is also the quality control and securities partner for large public entities, mostly in the financial services sector. Gale sits on various committees at KPMG, including leading several of its topic teams (i.e., financial instruments, stock-based compensation and pensions) and is the co-founder of KPMG Canada’s Women’s Interchange Network.

Gale currently acts as the Chair of the AcSB’s IFRS Discussion Group. She is also a member of the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions’ Deposit-taking Institutions Auditors Advisory Committee and was previously a member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s Continuous Disclosure Advisory Committee (2010-2018).

In addition, Gale is active in her community, presently a member of the AGO Foundation Board and a member of the audit committee of Habitat for Humanity GTA.
